The company that manufactures luxury products has already been contacted by several interested parties and is analyzing the proposals. Marc Jacobs had profits of 600 million euros in 2023.

A LVMH – owner of brands such as Luis Vuitton, Dior and Moet – is considering selling one of its brands, Marc Jacobs, after receiving purchase proposals from several interested parties, sources reveal to Bloomberg. The French company was approached by rival companies in the luxury and consumer market, as well as investment funds.

Contacted by Bloomberg, an official representative of the luxury conglomerate denied that LVMH was considering selling the brand, but several sources told the news agency that, although everything is still at a very early stage, the company is analyzing all its hypotheses.

It is relatively rare for LVMH to sell brands from its portfolio. In 2016, the luxury goods manufacturer sold Donna Karan and DKNY for $650 million to the G-III Apparel Group, owner of brands such as Calvin Klein. A possible sale of Marc Jacobs would allow the company to redirect its attention to the high-end luxury market, leaving the more affordable ones behind.

Marc Jacobs was recently restructured by LVMH, which led to a simplification of its product range. In 2023, the brand recorded earnings of around 600 million euros, as revealed by some internal sources to Bloomberg. A The company does not discriminate between its subsidiaries in its financial statements.
