Born in Venezuela and living in Portugal since 2017, singer-songwriter Yosune gives the song the form of a music video this Sunday To bethe first song from an EP to be released this year, Mother Tierra. The music video is from Produções Dona Suna and, when recording the song, Yosune (voice, foursome) was joined by musicians Geraldo Gomes (cello) and Pancho Tarabbia (percussions). Being, it is said in the text that accompanies the release of the music video, intends to be a “conversation between the soul and the body, a hymn of self-acceptance in all its aspects”. The characters that appear in the video, embodied by the singer, represent – ​​says the text – “the inspiration in the feminine through the Tarot Priestess and Queen of Bastos, along with Yosune’s other alter egos”, showing “the diversity of our being, inviting thus, embracing our aspects and tendencies within us. A portrait of the battle to truly show ourselves in each moment along with the revolt we feel in the face of the injustices that afflict us and that invade us throughout the world… the fight continues, for being able to be and live, every day, in the freedom of being.”

The songs from the now announced EP Mother Tierra, it is also announced, that they are “stories of a social and protest nature, inspired by Spanish-American music, original songs and urban music”. Produced by Quico Serrano, the album is also “a celebration of life and our brief passage on this planet, a compliment to the soil that sustains us all, an appeal to our divine feminine nature and a tribute to the mother who gives everything and asks nothing in return.”

Yosune started playing cuatro, a Venezuelan chordophone, at the age of 7, singing popular songs from his country. In 2011, she headed to Brazil, having won a scholarship in São Paulo. There she studied Brazilian music (at EMESP) and, still in Brazil, she would release her first album in 2016, Yoyo Borobia, produced by DJ Deeplick “with the participation of great Brazilian and Cuban musicians” and mixing “Latin American, Brazilian and Oriental sounds”. This work of his was the calling card for concerts in 35 cities in 10 countries, from 2015 to 2017, on a tour that passed through Uruguay, Argentina, Brazil, Chile in Latin America and Spain, England, France, Portugal, Belgium, Germany and Luxembourg, participating in major festivals such as Glastonbury (Great Britain, 2016) and SIM São Paulo (2015). In Portugal, where he now lives, Yosune will perform live at the Centro Cultural Vila das Aves, on May 11th; and at the Cidade Poema Literary Festival, in Lamego (21 June).
