Madonna’s neighbor at Copacabana Palace tells how he registered the diva’s check-in and praises dancers

Amidst the curiosity to know what is happening inside the Copacabana Palace, the RJ2 spoke with a guest who managed to record the check-in of Madonna, her daughters and her team.

“It was the best feeling I’ve ever had.”

Fábio Alencar is a dental surgeon and megafan of the singer. He stayed at the hotel until late Tuesday afternoon (30). This Monday (29), he was ready in the lobby when Madonna arrived and managed to make a video.

Even from afar, he spoke to the singer: “Madonna, let’s strike a pose.”

Fábio says that the queen of pop looked and smiled at him and continued on her way: “I’ve already made my life, I’ve already finished my life.”

The day had other surprises. The fan said that he even worked out with one of Madonna’s daughters. Mercy James performs with her mother at shows.

In addition to the photo with her, Fábio also secured records with the singer’s dancers.

“They are super approachable, calm, lively people. They stayed up late having fun. If it wasn’t with the queen, it was with the princess. So, it was worth it.”

Inside, circulation is restricted to guests who already had a reservation, hotel staff and the singer’s team. She arrived with 200 people, occupying a total of 92 rooms.

The atmosphere is one of secrecy to ensure the queen’s peace of mind. A fence was placed to prevent the public from getting too close to the hotel reception.

Fans stand outside waiting for the singer to say goodbye.

“We are here watching to see if it appears. Anxious. I’m just staying here. Madonna, I love you.”

Madonna did not come down this Tuesday to have breakfast at the restaurant with the other guests. But the RJ2 found out that she was at the hotel’s oriental restaurant at night.

Finding the singer out and about is very difficult. The accesses through which it will pass are closed in advance.

Even getting a reservation at one of the hotel’s three restaurants became an almost impossible mission. Amid this hectic routine, this Tuesday a wedding took place in one of the Copacabana Palace ballrooms.

Madonna is staying on the 6th floor, where the so-called penthouses are located — the presidential suites of pure luxury. They have classic-style decor, with works of art, marble bathrooms and butler service (learn more about the suites below).

Guests on the 6th floor also have access to an exclusive pool, the black pool, which gets its name because it is decorated with black tiles.

Albert Einstein, Santos Dumont, Walt Disney, Mick Jagger, Carmen Miranda, Queen Elizabeth II, Lady Di and the current King Charles III are some of the illustrious guests the hotel has received. And this isn’t Madonna’s first time in Rio.

Madonna and her team enjoy an exclusive pool for the floor, called the black pool. The diva’s suite is approximately 100 square meters and has a king size bed, marble bathroom, butler service and personalized pampering, according to the client’s personality.

The 6th floor has seven penthouse suites, where Katy Perry, Gisele Bündchen, Brigite Bardot and Richard Gere have stayed.

The daily rate starts at R$8,226, but the price may vary according to the season.

The Rio hotel had four stars in the Forbes travel guide. Another 3 hotels in the city were mentioned in the same publication in the “recommended” category: Fairmont, Fasano and Santa Teresa Hotel.

Breakfast, included in the daily rate, features a selection of homemade breads, eggs, bacon, cereals, and seasonal fruits, as well as coffee, tea and chocolate. However, this selection may vary according to the guest’s taste. The idea is to please anyone who wants a plate of bread or a more elaborate meal.

On the hotel menu, a mineral water costs R$16, a canned beer R$22, and a sparkling wine costs R$6,500.

There are lighter options, with cottage cheese and turkey breast, for example. If the person staying has any allergies or dietary restrictions, they can request a personalized menu.

Other items available are green juice, homemade granola and pancakes. But if Madonna wants to try a more Brazilian product, the hotel also serves açaí and cheese bread.
