Presenter Xuxa Meneghel was ordered to pay legal fees and a procedural fine, totaling more than 30 thousand reais, in a case she filed against federal deputy Carla Zambelli (PL).
The process was initiated by Xuxa in 2020, after the parliamentarian criticized a book on LGBTQIAPN+ themes authored by Xuxa, entitled “Maya: Bebê Arco-Íris”, which tells the story of a girl with two mothers.
The video criticizing the book was posted by Zambelli on the social network X.
In a decision handed down on April 15th by judge Mariah Calixto Sampaio Marchetti, it was established that Xuxa must pay the amount of 31,617.14 reais within a period of 15 calendar days, which has already expired.
As there was a ‘default’, a procedural fine of 10% and additional legal fees of 10% will certainly be applied, and Xuxa’s bank account may be blocked.
