“I feel really sad because I think about the person I met and the books she wrote,” the actor confessed to “The Atlantic” magazine.

Daniel Radcliffe admitted he was disappointed with J. K. Rowling’s speech, after she said she would not excuse him, nor the actress Emma Watson, with whom he starred in the “Harry Potter” films, for supporting the LGBT community.

The writer has long been known for her transphobic comments, with which the actor does not identify, even though she recognizes that it was Rowling who launched him to fame.

“Ultimately, it makes me really sad because I think about the person I knew, the moments we met, the books she wrote, the world she created and all of that is, for me, deeply empathetic,” he stressed, noting that he has not had direct contact with the writer since 2020.

At that time, Radcliffe spoke out for the first time against the ideas of the “Harry Potter” author. “Although Jo is responsible for the direction my life has taken, as a human being I feel compelled to say something: trans women they are women,” he said.

In the most recent interview, still in response to JK Rowling, he confirmed his position: “I will continue to support the rights of all LGBT people and I have no further comments beyond that”.
