QWhen results don’t appear, criticism emerges. It’s a certainty in football and Nuno Mendes is the latest victim. The Portuguese full-back received a rating of three (from one to ten) from the newspaper L’Equipe, criticizing the former Sporting player’s performance after the defeat against Dortmund. The newspaper questioned whether Nuno would be in physical condition to play in the game.
Asked about Mendes’ performance, in this case by Le Parisien, former Paris Saint-Germain player Laurent Leroy devastated the Portuguese international’s performance.
“He was in great, great difficulty. For me, it’s simple, he deserves a zero rating! He had difficulties in all areas, in passing, in shooting… He was surpassed in all duels”, said the former PSG striker, 46 years old.
The young player, aged 21, spent most of the season recovering from an injury. He has just 11 game appearances this season. In front of him was an inspired Jadon Sancho who, alone, had more dribbles than the entire PSG team – he completed 12, one more than the French.
