Six years have passed since Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan separated, but the fight over the assets that should be divided by the now ex-couple remains heated. Jenna accuses her ex-partner of hiding his profits from a male striptease company that was created when the two were still together.

According to court documents uncovered by the Daily Mail, Tatum denies the conspiracy allegations: “I have always agreed that she has an interest in the intellectual property of Magic Mike and related entities. I have never denied her share of any community assets or income. Her claims that I ‘confabulated with third parties’ are completely false.”

The striptease show company ‘Magic Mike’ bears the same name as the successful film (and, in part, autobiographical) franchise starring the actor. And, according to Tatum, Jenna always had access to the firm’s balance sheets. “She has had full access to all of our financial records for all activities during our marriage and since our separation. She continues to provide updates on Magic Mike’s financial matters,” the star defended.

The divorce between the actors has already been finalized, however, the discussion about the division of assets and alimony for their 10-year-old daughter Everly remains open in the courts. Jenna has now filed a lawsuit aimed at ‘slicing up’ the case, addressing the profitability of revenue from the ‘Magic Mike’ shows in a separate trial. Tatum is fighting for a single legal treatment of the entire situation ‘to finalize our divorce case without further delay’. According to him, Jenna wants “delay tactics to prolong the resolution of our financial agreement.”

The actor is against the payment of pension, claiming that the union of eight years and eight months was short-lived and that today Jenna is in a union of more than five years with another man and that she has a job to pay for her own support. He admits, however, that she will pay ‘half of the community property, residuals and royalties and income from other investments’, plus ‘substantial investment income from the cash assets she received in our divorce’. Jenna is currently engaged to actor and singer Steve Kazee and is pregnant with a baby due next month. Channing is engaged to fellow actress Zoe Kravitz.

The ‘Magic Mike’ brand began with a 2012 film with a budget of $7 million that ended up grossing $167 million at the global box office. The film had two equally successful sequels and gave rise to a traveling striptease show company which, according to Jenna Dewan’s lawyer, forms “a potential asset of one billion dollars”. She accuses her ex of bringing supposed investors into the discussion to further divide the profits and reduce his share of the business.
