I have many things that inspire me, I really like to think about the time we live in, all this conversation we are having, it makes me think about several things. One of them is what I just said, that I think we are in a moment of a totally different world that is taking shape in political terms, there are very important discussions on the agenda and they are being taken to such a silly, liberal side of society. thing. For example, the discussion about colonialism itself, about racism, immigration in the world, about new forms of love, which is something that has interested me a lot. There are many discussions about a more progressive world and such, and at the same time, in Brazil at least, there is a very large conservative advance. One of the influences is neo-Pentecostalism, from churches on the periphery, while African-based religions are being persecuted more than ever. There is a lot of space for us to make music, to make art in a challenging way, but that proposes a good way of living, alternative forms of life for now, to be happy now. We live a lot in a situation where you are either alienated in a very conservative world or it seems like you live in hell, and that may be true from one point of view, but we have to find alternative ways of enjoying life and being envious to this other side too. We also know how to live and be happy in the fight, and this is important to show people. And this has already been done in the past, like in the Brazilian musical movement in the 60s, where you had several artists introducing new ways of life, in Tropicália, in MPB, with Jorge Ben Jor and the people of the Black Power movement. What they said was: “Guys, we also have our way of life here and I can make you jealous, because we can also be happy and have fun, because we have style.”
