R$300,000 per month was spent on trips between São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro alone. In his relationship with Mel Maia, MC Daniel spared no expense to be by the artist’s side. “I spent R$300,000 on air tickets in my old relationship. It’s a lot and I could go by car, by van. I could leave it until another day to be with my family. I was amazed, idiot.”
“We have to stop spending.” The turning point in MC Daniel’s head began when he was warned by his mother and businessman that he had nothing in his account and heard that it didn’t make sense to go tearing up money even though he didn’t have a solid foundation.
My manager said: ‘You, in about three, six months, will have to sell your house and cars. You will be poor again. I said: ‘No, for God’s sake, what do I do?’ And he said: ‘You have to stop spending. You ask for R$10,000 every Friday and give R$40,000 a month to people on the streets. You have to stop spending. Wake up to life, you are not everyone’s father. You have to get up, earn your nest egg and then help others on the street.’

Forced financial re-education. The funk singer put his ego aside, stopped spending and focused on creating ways to increase his wealth. “Then I stopped spending, I went back to eating PF (prepared dish). Thank God, I managed to get back on my feet. I went back to the mentality I had before. Before, I survived on R$50 a month.”
Fixed monthly income from real estate generates around R$100,000. Advised by businessmen, the artist invested in buying properties to guarantee a fixed amount of money each month to pay for his luxuries.
They had this idea and it was great. My mother is the one who takes care of my money today. I want to accumulate a lot of money to help many people and have an NGO. I want to give a car and a house to every person who works with me and help people with disabilities, autism, depression and Down syndrome. I see myself like this in ten years.
