Blaya turned to TikTok to vent about the difficulties of an artist’s life, particularly about not being sure if he will have enough money to pay the bills at the end of the month. The video she published on social media arises from a controversy with digital influencer Melanie Vicente, in which she claims to be richer than her parents and that her days are spent in surfing and dancing classes.

“Hello, I’m Carla Rodrigues aka Blaya, I’m 36 years old, I’m an artist and, therefore, there are months when I’m richer than my parents and other months when I’m not richer than my parents. I’m a woman, I’m a mother, I’m not white, I have tattoos and I’ve always fought for the freedom of women’s bodies. And, as I have a bolder language, 95% of brands don’t want to work with me”he began by saying.

“What did I do this week? I cried in the corners of the house, because the first day of the month was approaching and I had 350 thousand installments to pay. Since life as an artist in this country is unstable, at the end of the month I go into depression because I don’t know if I’ll have money to pay the bills.”he concluded.
