“When a person tries to crack their back or neck, the joints above and below the area of ​​restriction move to compensate,” explains chiropractor Tori Hartline.

“It can cause tension in the muscles and ligaments around the spine, cause injuries or worsen existing problems. This cracking does not solve the problem and can even cause more injuries”, he continues. It can, for example, increase the risk of stroke.
