Another internationally renowned actor mobilized in favor of the victims of the floods in Rio Grande do Sul. Rafael Silva, one of the stars of the series 9-1-1: Lone Star
started a campaign to raise funds to help the population of Rio Grande do Sul who are suffering from the effects of heavy rains last week.

The Brazilian actor, who has participated in the series since its debut in 2020, announced that he will sell recorded messages to his followers and direct all proceeds to Rio Grande do Sul

“Due to the recent events in the South of Brazil, in Rio Grande do Sul, with the floods and everything, I decided to join Cameo to raise money for all the people who lost their homes, their means of survival, their jobs, their sustenance, as well as shelter and food”, explains the actor in a video published on his Instagram.

As he explains, the sale of messages will be done through Cameo, a platform where fans can buy personalized videos from their idols. In Silva’s case, the content costs US$150 — around R$770 at the current price.

According to the actor, all income acquired until May 23rd will be donated to BrazilFoundation, one of the organizations that is helping victims of the floods in Rio Grande do Sul. This is the same group that was also publicized by model Gisele Bündchen.

“I would love to record videos for you wishing you a happy birthday, happy Mother’s Day”, adds the Brazilian actor. “It’s a cute gift.” He also adds that even those who are unable to purchase one of his videos can help with any other amount directly on the institution’s website, which is one of several organizations helping the state of Rio Grande do Sul at this time.

Help from all sides

Rafael Silva is just another big international name mobilizing in favor of Rio Grande do Sul. In addition to him and Gisele Bündchen, South Korean actor Sung Hoon also announced that he would reverse the revenue from an event he participates in in Brazil this Friday (10) to the victims of the floods.

In the field of music, the band Fresno performed a benefit live with other singers and raised more than R$2 million in donations. Singer Madonna, who performed in the country on May 4, also made a donation of R$17 million, while Apple CEO Tim Cook announced that he would also help with a cash donation.
