I was dismayed to learn of the death of the educator Professor JoséAntônio Formigli Rebouças, former professor at the Institute of Theology of Ilhéus, the Faculty of Technology and Science (FTC), currently UNEX, and the Faculties of Southern Bahia de Itabuna, succeeded by Anhanguera. Furthermore, he was municipal secretary of Social Assistance between 2009 and 2012 and a columnist for the now-defunct Jornal Agora.
In addition to being a refined intellectual, he published books such as “Jesus Christ and his Church – according to the Bible”, a biblical study encouraged by his solid intellectual training with a degree in Philosophy from the Major Seminary of the Carmelite Fathers (1952) São Paulo; degree in Theology from the Faculdade Internacional Santo Alberto (1958) Rome, Italy, specialization in Neo-Thomist Philosophy from the Doctor Angelicus University (1959) Rome, Italy; and a degree in Experimental and Clinical Psychology from the Université Catholique de Louvains (1964) Belgium.
