Coordinator of Caocrimo-AM, Igor Starling will receive the title of Citizen of Amazonas

Tribute was proposed by deputy Roberto Cidade and was unanimously approved

The coordinator of the Operational Support Center for Criminal Prosecutors (Caocrimo) and the Special Group to Combat Organized Crime (Gaeco) of the Public Ministry of Amazonas (MPAM), prosecutor Igor Starling Peixoto, aged 45, will receive the title Citizen of Amazonas at the State Legislative Assembly (Aleam), in the Ruy Araújo plenary, on May 9th, at 11:45 am.

The honor is granted to people who were not born in the State, but who have provided or are providing relevant services to the population of Amazonas. The proposal for the title, approved unanimously, was made by state deputy Roberto Cidade (União Brasil), through Bill No. 677/2023.

In his justification, the deputy stated that the prosecutor occupies one of the most important investigative positions in Amazonas and acts independently on behalf of the people of Amazonas in his duties. Among the justifications listed in PL nº 677 are the “contribution as an electoral promoter for years guaranteeing the legitimate democratic process”; “acting in the working group to tackle the crisis in the Penitentiary System”; in addition to the coordination of Gaeco and Caocrimo.

“I am extremely honored to receive the title of Amazonian citizen, publicly materializing my respect, dedication and love for our land and its people”, said the honored prosecutor.

Biography of the honoree

Born in Brasília, Igor Starling is married to the judge of the Court of Justice of the State of Amazonas, Maria da Graça Giulietta Cardoso de Carvalho Starling, and has two sons: Igor and Hugo. He took the exam in 2007, being sworn in in 2009.

He took over as head of the District of Carauari, later removed to Boa Vista do Ramos, Codajás and Presidente Figueiredo. He worked, by appointment, in several municipalities in the interior, including Coari, Urucará, Juruá, Parintins, among others.

Igor Starling was an electoral promoter for years, contributing to the legitimate democratic process.

In 2019, he was removed to the capital and took over the 25th Public Prosecutor’s Office, working in the Military Audit. In 2020, he held the position of Coordinator of the Operational Support Center for the Criminal Prosecutor’s Offices of the Public Ministry of the State of Amazonas (Caocrimo), an opportunity in which he worked, at the height of the pandemic, in support of the Criminal Prosecutor’s Offices. Since February 2022, he has taken over the coordination of Caocrimo, a structure to which Gaeco is linked, which is of paramount importance in combating criminal factions. This year, he was appointed to serve as secretary general of the National Group to Combat Criminal Organizations – GNCOC.
