The Health Committee of the Chamber of Deputies approved, on Wednesday, 24, a bill that obliges the public administration to provide psychological care to nurses, nursing technicians and assistants who work in the public health system. The proposal will be analyzed in conclusive character by the Social Security and Family and Constitution and Justice and Citizenship committees.

Assistance should include actions to promote and recover the mental health of professionals. To ensure services, the proposal allows for partnerships to be signed with universities, private institutions and social organizations. The text was approved under the terms of the rapporteur, deputy Dr. Luiz Ovando (PP-MS), to Bill 5130/19, by deputy Célio Studart (PSD-CE). The rapporteur limited the obligation to provide assistance to public sector professionals.
