Measure aims to expand vaccination coverage, riverside schools were present

The coordination of the “Juntos Pela Vida” project met, on the afternoon of this Monday (29), with representatives of municipal schools in riverside regions of Amazonas, at the headquarters of the Public Ministry of Amazonas (MPAM), to assess vaccination coverage of children and adolescents enrolled in institutions.

Five schools from the Negro and Amazon river regions were present during the audit. All of them had already received the “Juntos Pela Vida” seal in 2022 and 2023, indicating that they achieved vaccination coverage of more than 80% against Covid-19 and other diseases. In this audit, the school units audited achieved vaccination rates above 90%. The Luiz Jorge da Silva Municipal School, for example. located in the Santa Maria community, reached 100% vaccination.

Present in the audit, the municipal schools Santa Luzia, Francisco Coelho and Ebenezer reached, respectively, the rate of vaccinated students of 95.12%; 95.45%; 94.44% and 90.20%.

The teacher at Escola Municipal Luiz Jorge da Silva, Brayana Lima, expressed satisfaction with the joint work carried out by the community, which resulted in the complete vaccination of students. ‘Everything that is aimed at valuing life is important to encourage’, highlighted the teacher.

At the end of the audit, the project coordinator, Public Prosecutor Delisa Vieiralves, highlighted the positive results obtained, emphasizing that the project is being adopted by schools effectively, becoming an integral part of their routine. She said she was pleased to see the schools being awarded for the second time, demonstrating the managers’ commitment to promoting children’s health on an ongoing basis.

About the Together for Life Project

The Public Ministry of Amazonas actively encourages the immunization of children and adolescents through the “Juntos Pela Vida” project. This initiative establishes partnerships with schools in the capital and the interior, with the objective of reaching a minimum immunization target of 80% of enrolled students, according to the National Immunization Program Calendar, including the vaccine against Covid-19. The project already involves more than 13 thousand students who are up to date with vaccinations, thanks to the participation of several institutions, such as the Amazonas Military Police Schools, private schools, state and municipal schools, daycare centers and educational units in the interior. With three years of existence, “Juntos Pela Vida” has already certified more than 60 educational units in the capital and interior of Amazonas.
