After consolidating itself on the Arapiraca calendar with a resoundingly successful launch in 2023, the Shrimp Festival returned in its second edition, breaking a new record: the fair sold around 3,300 dishes, all exclusive and at a single price of R $17.99, in addition to having an estimated audience of 2,900 people.

The turnover of the new edition was around 75% higher, a number that represents the strength of the Arapiraca Gastronomic Festivals Circuit, which started last year and which this year will feature five events, including the 1st Couscuz Festival, a new arrives in June.

The 2nd Shrimp Festival was held by Arapiraca City Hall, through the Municipal Department of Economic Development and Tourism, in partnership with Sebrae. In addition to good live music, free tastings and a craft and cachaça stand, the festival surprised everyone with a series of inventive and very different dishes, such as cheese and spice ice cream served with shrimp or Japanese acarajé, made with salmon and cream. cheese. Of course, there was also space to enjoy the more classic dishes, such as pizzas and traditional Bahian acarajé.

Another novelty that contributed to the growth of the fair was the new 1,000 m² space in the Supermercado São Luiz parking lot, more than three times larger than the previous one. This was a great success of the new edition, which provided more comfort and drew praise from the public.

The need to expand the location and add new attractions arises from the great success of the circuit, which attracts more and more people not only from Arapiraca, but also from other cities and even states.

According to secretary Hibernon Cavalcante, the satisfaction of participating in the event was not only among the public, but also among the businesspeople who sold their dishes at the festival. Unanimously, everyone reported that their expectations were exceeded.

In addition to brightening the nights of Arapiraquenses and visitors, the objective of these festivals is to promote gastronomic tourism and the economic development of the municipality, offering a space for prospecting new businesses while highlighting the strength of shrimp farming and family farming in the municipality.
