The Municipality of Pirassununga, through the Municipal Secretariats of Government, Assistance and Social Development, and Public Security, together with the active forces of the Municipality, started this Monday (6) the campaign in favor of the victims of the strong rains that hit Rio Grande do Sul in recent days.
Non-perishable food, clothes, blankets, water and hygiene products will be collected, as well as specific items for women, such as sanitary pads and underwear.
The campaign will also have the theme “Pira MISSÃO-RS”
Initially, the collection point is the Municipal Palace, located at Rua Galício Del Nero, 51. However, a new meeting will be held at the beginning of the week to align more details of the action, including the addition of new collection points and partner companies.
Until this Sunday (5), the storms in Rio Grande do Sul affected more than 332 municipalities, resulting in 75 confirmed deaths, six deaths under investigation, 101 people missing and 155 injured, 80,573 homeless and 15,192 people in shelters (data from Civil Defense -RS 05). The heavy rains began on April 27th and gained strength on the 29th, hitting several regions of Rio Grande do Sul. The most affected areas are the valleys of the rivers Taquari, Caí, Pardo, Jacuí, Sinos, Gravataí, in addition to the Guaíba, in Porto Alegre.
