Mayor Edvan Brandão was present at the re-inauguration ceremony of the Bacabal City Council, an emblematic event for the municipality. Held in the late afternoon of Wednesday (8), the event also brought together prominent state authorities, such as deputies Davi Brandão, Roberto Costa, and the president of ALEMA, Iracema Vale.

The ceremony was marked by tributes to former councilors and presidents of the past, highlighting the historical importance of the institution for the city. The building underwent extensive renovation, covering everything from the roof to the floor, which represents a significant investment to ensure a modern and comfortable environment, both for local authorities and the general population.

The municipality’s legal advisor, Emílio Carvalho, highlighted the relevance of the City Council as a crucial space for the approval of bills and for the city’s destiny, in collaboration with the Executive and Judiciary powers.

Deputy Davi Brandão congratulated President Melquiades Neto and all 17 councilors for the great work and reopening of the Casa do Povo, which is the Bacabal Chamber, also recognizing Mayor Edvan Brandão’s commitment to meeting the House’s demands. State deputy Roberto Costa highlighted the fundamental role of the City Council as a support space for the community, where citizens can present their complaints and demands, highlighting the importance of modernizing the structure to better serve councilors and the population.

The president of the Legislative Assembly, Iracema Vale, said: “I want to congratulate President Melquiades and all the councilors for delivering such a beautiful environment for the population of Bacabal. I would also like to take advantage of this and congratulate our mayor Edvan Brandão, who is an example to be followed, he is a great conciliatory manager who works in partnership with the Chamber”.

President Melquiades Neto expressed his gratitude for the union between the Chamber and City Hall, recognizing Mayor Edvan Brandão’s tireless work on behalf of the municipality. “Edvan was our colleague here at the Chamber and knows well the struggle of councilors. He is a great partner of this House of Law and I want to thank him for his presence here and say that we will continue working always with the good of Bacabal in mind. I am happy to be here today at this historic moment, handing over the new city council.”

For Mayor Edvan Brandão, the reopening of the Bacabal Chamber represents a moment of celebration and achievement for the city. He expressed his pleasure in participating in this historic event and congratulated all councilors on their achievement. “Historic day in our city. Today we reopened the Bacabal Chamber in a ceremony alongside President Melquiades Neto, deputies Davi Brandão, Roberto Costa, the President of the Assembly, Iracema Vale and our society represented in various segments. As a councilor and president of the Chamber that I was, I was very happy for the invitation and for the building that is ready to receive our people. In addition to the authorities already mentioned, the ceremony was attended by vice-mayor Graciete Trabulsi, the president of the Union of Councilors and Chambers of Maranhão (UVCM), Asaf Sobrinho, as well as councilors from the region and representatives of various trade associations and public bodies. .
