Anita revealed this Saturday, December 3, that she was diagnosed with the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), which can cause infectious mononucleosispopularly known as the “kissing disease”.
The information was shared during the launch of the documentary ‘Eu’, about the life of Ludmila Dayer, in São Paulo. According to G1the singer recalled that she spent “for the hardest time of your life” when the disease was diagnosed.
The artist said that the relationship with Ludmilla – who fights against multiple sclerosis – was important for her to be able to treat herself at the beginning of the infection.
It is recalled that recently Anitta was admitted to the hospital, but the reason was not disclosed.
What is the Epstein-Barr virus?
According to the CUFEBV is one of the viruses “most common, being present all over the world” and is mainly known “for causing infectious mononucleosis”but it can also be associated with other diseases and complications, including multiple sclerosis (according to recent studies).
“The Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV) it is mainly transmitted through saliva between an infected and a non-infected person – hence mononucleosis, the most common disease caused by this virus, is also known as the “kissing disease” -, but also by the use of contaminated objects, such as toothbrushes or glasses. EBV is also found in blood and sperm, so transmission through untreated blood transfusions, organ transplants, or sexual intercourse is possible.”it reads.
