O Entrepreneur Elon Musk recently criticized the remote work model again, stating that it was “morally wrong” given that not all workers have the opportunity to carry out their tasks from their own home.
However, it seems that the vast majority of employees of technology companies did not like these statements very much and shared their views on the networking site Blind. This site requires users to authenticate their account with their professional email, so all participants actually belong to some of the biggest technology companies in the world.
As the Business Insider website reports, the opinion of the vast majority of participants in these conversations seems to be that Elon Musk made hypocritical statements, making some jokes at the expense of the businessman.
“Morally wrong? It is also morally wrong to accumulate billions of dollars.”noted a worker at the company responsible for Facebook and Instagram, Meta.
“In that case, flying in private planes is morally wrong since we all have to travel in commercial planes”said an Apple worker.
“Gardeners have to work all day in the sun, how dare you work in an air-conditioned building?”wrote a Google worker. “But people should work in the sun and sweat every day, anything else is morally wrong”.
A Rivian worker also created a poll to see how Blind users evaluated Musk’s statements, with most of the 480 participants in this poll not liking the businessman’s opinions.
Even more, other workers at tech companies accused Musk of working remotely, noting that he holds leadership positions at five companies headquartered in different US states.
