The prices charged by TAP make the JM headline today. We did the math and concluded that traveling between Funchal and Lisbon, on TAP, in May, represents a cost of around 500 euros.

Taking the last week of the month as an example, the same trip costs 285 euros on easyJet and 142 euros on Ryanair. ‘TAP charges twice as much as competitors’ is the opening title of this edition.

Under the heading ‘Lost and Found’, we take readers on a trip to Ponta Delgada and the respective Lombadas, where foreigners are standing out among the new residents. ‘Paradise exchanges residents for tourists’, highlights JM on the first page.

In Culture, three highlights: ‘Rigo presents installation in Funchal’, ‘Ribeira Brava invites Pedro Chagas Freitas’ and ‘Santa Cruz says goodbye to the Book Fair’.

On the Occurrences page, we open with the death of a young mother who could not resist rare breast cancer. Other highlights in this section: ‘Rescuing a couple in the mountains took 13 hours’ and ‘Firefighters called to Caldeirão Verde’.

The weekend special, JM Domingo, is today dedicated to wines, an edition full of suggestions and news.

These are the headlines, but there is more to read in JM.
