Rui Santos revealed that last year he was diagnosed with cancer, but not even his mother knew about the situation.
On social media he revealed, “On March 13, 2023 I received the results of a biopsy and I was diagnosed with cancer, I underwent surgery after 3 weeks at the IPO (Portuguese Institute of Oncology), the surgery went well and the entire area was removed . At the moment I am being monitored, as in all cancer cases.”
He further wrote, “So I’m fine, it was discovered in time and I’m calm and optimistic. Thank you for the messages of concern and affection. I pay here my sincere tribute to the entire IPO team and the extraordinary work they perform, I was humbled by the spirit of humanity and respect for patients. I can’t describe in words what I felt in that institution.”
“A big hug to all those true heroes who save lives every day. Only my true friends knew about this, I decided to tell what happened in the first person publicly to avoid misunderstandings. I only told my mom last week because she didn’t want me to know. Now everything is clear and here are some more good years of life that living is wonderful ❤️”, she concluded.
