One month after the start of the flu vaccination campaign in Belo Horizonte, only one in three elderly people received the dose, offered free of charge. To date, 140,000 residents over the age of 60 have been immunized, representing 30.5% coverage.

“We are expanding the locations to facilitate the population’s access to doses of the vaccine. It is recommended that people who are part of the priority group get vaccinated as soon as possible, so that they are already protected when the circulation of the flu virus increases”, said the municipal secretary of Health, Danilo Borges Matias.

In addition to people aged 60 and over, the priority audience includes children aged 6 months to under 6 years (5 years, 11 months and 29 days), health workers, pregnant and postpartum women, teachers and people with chronic diseases .

At the time of vaccination, it is essential that you present your identification document with photo, CPF and vaccination card. For some of the priority groups there is also a requirement to prove the role performed and also the health condition.
