Louveira City Hall, through the Health Department, reinforces guidelines for residents to combat dengue. According to Health Surveillance, it is essential for each citizen to eliminate possible breeding sites for the Aedes aegypti mosquito, which transmits the disease, in their homes and work.

In strategic and continuous action, City Hall teams carry out a series of actions to contain the spread of mosquitoes, such as the use of an inspection drone in difficult to access areas, theater presentations in Municipal Schools to raise children’s awareness, nebulization in neighborhoods with larger cases, Health Tents, on-site inspections in places that were reported by residents, strategic points and works to guide and eliminate mosquito breeding sites.

In a highlighted action, the City Council also used the drone to apply insecticide/larvicide in difficult-to-access places, and in particular, in the Workers’ Leisure Area, location of the 54th Grape Festival and 10th Expo Caqui de Louveira starting this Friday Monday (26). The equipment uses a residual effect product, which consists of eliminating mosquitoes that are born or land in the region where it was applied. The product does not present risks to the health of humans and animals, except fish, but it is not used in places where they are present. The Department of Health will request the use of the drone as cases increase in regions that have difficult access.

Also underway throughout the city is the Mutirão Bairro a Bairro, which carries out mowing, weeding, cleaning drains, maintenance of squares and public spaces, sweeping, changing light bulbs and working on the pick-up truck, thus complementing the fight against dengue. .
