Juazeiro do Norte receives 2,000 doses of foot-and-mouth disease vaccine

The municipality of Juazeiro do Norte received a donation of 2 thousand doses of the vaccine against Foot and Mouth Disease from the Association of Mayors of Ceará-APRECE and the Federation of Rural Workers and Family Farmers of the State of Ceará-FETRAECE.

The objective is to achieve vaccination coverage of 90% so that the State obtains foot-and-mouth-free status without vaccination.

Cattle and buffalo producers who have not yet been vaccinated must go, by this Tuesday, April 30th, to the headquarters of the Technical Assistance and Rural Extension Company of Ceará (Ematerce) to collect the vaccine doses free of charge, taking with them a suitable thermal container.

After vaccination, producers have until May 15th to declare the procedure carried out, and can do so at the Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply (SEAGRI), the Ceará Agricultural Defense Agency (Adagri) or the Technical Assistance and Rural Extension Company from Ceará (Ematerce).

Failure to comply with this obligation will result in default with the supervisory body, preventing the issuance of the Animal Transit Guide (GTA) and subjecting offenders to fines.
