State confirms seven more deaths from dengue and number reaches 116 this year

The State Department of Health (SES) confirmed this Monday another seven deaths from dengue. With confirmation, the number of deaths from the disease in 2024 will reach 116.

The seven confirmed victims are aged between 38 and 89 years old and only two of them had no declared comorbidities, one of them being a 38-year-old woman. The deaths occurred between March 29 and April 22.

According to the SES panel, Rio Grande do Sul has already had 92,433 confirmed cases, 77,844 of which are indigenous. There are still 30,527 cases under investigation.

The seven deaths confirmed this Monday are: woman, 89 years old, resident of Três Passos, with comorbidities, which occurred on 03/29/2024; man, 74 years old, from Santa Maria, with comorbidities, occurred on 04/06/2024; woman, 70 years old, from Liberato Salzano, with comorbidities, which occurred on 04/15/2024; man, 58 years old, from Crissiumal, with comorbidities, occurred on 04/18/2024; man, 62 years old, from Canoas, with no declared comorbidities, occurred on 04/21/2024; woman, 38 years old, from Porto Alegre, with no declared comorbidities, occurred on 04/21/2024; and woman, 71 years old, from Santa Cruz do Sul, with comorbidities, which occurred on 04/22/2024.
