Manaus registered 12 new cases of dengue in the last week

The capital of Amazonas recorded, from April 21st to 27th, 12 new cases of dengue, confirmed among 91 reported cases. This year, the municipality has recorded 1,992 confirmed cases of the disease, among 8,313 reported cases, of which 518 continue to be investigated. A total of one death from arbovirus remains, and another death remains under investigation.

The data comes from the Arbovirus Epidemiological Report, released this Monday (29), by the Municipal Health Department (Semsa). The publication reports the numbers of cases of dengue, zika, chikungunya, oropouche and mayaro.

There are no new confirmed or suspected cases of Zika in the report. The disease numbers recorded this year remain at the same levels as in the previous publication, with 20 confirmed cases and 62 reported, two of which remain under investigation. There are no confirmed or suspected deaths due to arbovirus.

There was also no notification or confirmation of new cases of chikungunya in the last epidemiological week, according to the report. Five cases of arbovirus were confirmed this year, out of a total of 91 reported cases; Among these, 25 are still under analysis. There are no suspected or confirmed deaths from the disease.

With no new records in the last week, the total number of oropouche cases recorded this year in the capital remains at 866, with the total of one death caused by the disease remaining. The mayaro scenario also remained unchanged, with a total of three cases in 2024, with no deaths recorded.

All cases and deaths of oropouche and mayaro reported in the report are confirmed by laboratory criteria, and there are no cases or deaths under investigation for these arboviruses. The report does not contain data on reported cases of the diseases, as they are not mandatory notification conditions.
