TIs severe chest pain a sign that you are having a heart attack? The truth is that this is a symptom that may not be that serious. In some cases, it is even a sign of indigestion.
The Well + Good website spoke to gastroenterologist Neena Mohan to better understand what could happen. “Certainly indigestion can cause chest pain,” she begins by saying.

“Reflow can cause a type of chest pain, like burning or tightness. When it’s severe enough, it can cause esophagitis, or inflammation of the esophageal lining,” he continues. Heartburn can also be related to chest pain.
“Anxiety increases reflux-related symptoms and contributes to chest pain.” According to the Mayo Clinic, chest pain caused by a heart attack can travel to the arm or shoulder, causing heartburn, vomiting and nausea.
