The City of Itabirito, through the Municipal Department of Health, began this Thursday, May 2nd, the expansion of flu vaccination in the municipality, as determined by the State Department of Health. The campaign covers all people from 6 months of age and is now available in Basic Health Units (UBS).
Vaccination at UBS
Vaccination takes place from 9am to 3pm, Monday to Friday, in all UBS in the city, while there is stock. It is necessary to present a vaccination card, document with CPF or SUS National Card.
Increase in influenza cases
The high number of influenza/flu cases across the country led the Ministry of Health to expand flu vaccination to everyone. The measure aims to contain the most serious cases and hospitalizations resulting from the disease.
“The expansion of this campaign is important to contain the increase in flu cases in the municipality. Despite the heat waves, we are in autumn and winter will soon begin, a time when respiratory diseases worsen. It is important that people try to get immunized to avoid cases and complications of the disease”, highlighted the Health Superintendent, Lauane Braga.
