Montes Claros City Hall, through the Zoonosis Control Center (CCZ) of the Municipal Health Department, is carrying out vaccination against the rabies virus in the region of Lourdes, Vila Ipiranga, Monte Alegre, Monte Carmelo and Regina Perez neighborhoods. The reason for the action is that a bat, contaminated with the virus, was detected in that area.
It is essential that ALL DOGS AND CATS in the region are vaccinated, even those that have already been immunized previously.
Thus, until this Friday, May 3, from 8 am to 4 pm, vaccination will be carried out at the Basic Health Unit in the Lourdes neighborhood (Rua Geovane Soares da Cruz, 647).

Do your part, for the good of all!
RABIES – Rabies is a zoonosis of viral etiology that affects people, domestic and wild animals, and is transmitted through bites and contact with the saliva of the infected individual. Because it is lethal and has no cure, it is a pathology of extreme risk to public health.
Important guidelines:
– Avoid contact with wild animals;
– If bats are present in your home, throw a box or cloth over the animal to immobilize it and call the Zoonosis Control Center (CCZ), so that the biological material can be collected and taken for analysis;
– In case of contact, look for the nearest Basic Health Unit;
– If you find dead or sick wild animals in urban or rural areas, contact the CCZ;
– Carry out annual vaccinations for dogs and cats over 3 months old;
– Do not abandon prophylactic treatment against rabies!
