Sweet potatoes are quite versatile and can be used in a variety of sweet and savory recipes, as well as serving as a side dish for meat or as a complement to salads.

One of the best-known forms of consumption is sweet potatoes accompanied with grilled chicken. This dish is widely consumed by people who enjoy physical activity and seek to combine proteins with carbohydrates to increase muscle mass. However, it can also be consumed as chips and in recipes such as gnocchi, pasta, soups, escondidinho, among others.

The way you prepare the food is also important: avoid frying or adding fatty products, such as butter to a puree. Choose to eat it roasted or boiled, seasoned with olive oil, parsley, chives and other herbs.

Sweet potatoes cooked in water (boiling) retain more beta-carotene and make the nutrient more absorbable than other preparation methods. Cooking with the peel further helps to minimize the loss of nutrients, including beta-carotene and vitamin C. This way, it can be consumed in salads or to prepare a puree.

Another way to prepare it is by roasting the sweet potato, keeping the skin on to preserve a higher fiber content in the food. It is one of the healthiest ways of preparation, as long as little oil is used.
