It is also recommended that you walk for a minimum of 30 minutes to obtain the best results.
In addition to waking you up even more, “outdoor light helps ‘reset’ your body clock, which in turn helps regulate hunger, mood, body temperature and all sorts of other bodily processes important”, explains the doctor.
Generally, light from outside “hits the sensors at the back of the eyes, sending messages to a part of the brain called the pituitary gland, ordering it to stop producing the hormone melatonin”, one of those responsible for the feeling of drowsiness, he adds.
