ADespite its reputation for being very high in calories, mango is a juicy fruit that brings a wide range of health benefits. Nutritionist Camilla Córdova, professor at Faculdade Anhanguera, in Brazil, told the newspaper Metrópoles that “we can eat mango every day without any problems, in the case of healthy people without dietary restrictions.”
“There are no contraindications for the consumption of fresh fruit by healthy people without dietary restrictions”, he reinforces. In fact, a portion of approximately 100 grams of mango contains 60 calories, a value lower than that of a banana and close to that of an apple, for example.

Furthermore, it includes macronutrients such as fiber and carbohydrates, and is rich in vitamins A and C. One medium mango is equivalent to 10% and 67% of the entire daily recommendation for vitamin A and C, respectively. And it also has significant amounts of vitamin B6, E and potassium.
One mango a day improves digestive health, preventing constipation, strengthens the immune system and helps maintain skin firmness. What’s more: it also has nutrients – lutein and zeaxanthin – that help keep your eyes healthy.
