Department of Health updates dengue situation in Limeira


The Limeira Health Department updated this Monday (1st) the dengue situation. In total, the municipality has 998 confirmed cases of the disease, including three deaths. The third death due to dengue was confirmed today. This is an 88-year-old man who had comorbidities.

Another death, of a 44-year-old woman, is under investigation by the department. Furthermore, the death of a 91-year-old man, which was suspected, was ruled out as dengue fever. Also according to the ministry’s report, Limeira has 4,084 dengue notifications this year. Of this total, 2,102 are classified as suspected cases, as they are still awaiting laboratory test results, and 984 have already been discarded.

The Department of Health emphasizes that prevention campaigns and actions to combat dengue are permanent in Limeira. The folder also reinforces the importance of the population taking 10 minutes a week to eliminate possible breeding sites for the Aedes aegypti mosquito, since the focus of the disease is mainly in the backyards of homes.
