The baroque music orchestra ‘Il Giardino Armonico’ brings the concert to Portugal “Con Affetto” directed by Maestro Giovanni Antonini, exhibiting in Sines and Lisbon on October 22 and 23, the Italian Embassy announced this Friday.
At the Sines Arts Centre, on Saturday, October 22 at 9.30 pm, the Italian group will be responsible for the closing concert of the 18th edition of the “Terras Sem Sombra Festival”, an itinerant initiative that travels throughout the year to several cities in the Alentejo to promote music, heritage and biodiversity.
The following day, Sunday, October 23 at 18.00, the orchestra ‘Il Giardino Armonico’ will perform in Lisbon, in the Grand Auditorium of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
The concert program ‘Con Affetto’ addresses the relationship between emotion and reason in 17th century Italian music, when instrumental music claims an autonomous language and develops independently of its vocal counterpart.
For the concerts in Portugal, the orchestra will be composed by Giovanni Antonini (flutes and musical direction) Stefano Barneschi and Marco Bianchi (violins), Paolo Beschi (cello) and Riccardo Doni on harpsichord.
