The PSP’s Leiria District Command announced today the arrest of two men suspected of committing the crime of robbery on public roads.
In a press release, the police said that, on Thursday, through the Leiria Criminal Investigation Squadron, they carried out two arrest warrants outside the act of committing a crime.
“Two home search warrants and one non-home search warrant were also carried out, which resulted in the seizure of articles related to the crime investigated, as well as other illicit acts”, reads the statement.
The arrests took place between 7 am and 9:30 am, in the cities of Leiria and Marinha Grande, following an investigation into the crime of robbing people on public roads.
The men, aged 27 and 42, are today before an investigating judge, for the application of the respective coercive measures.
“We believe that with this action, the District Command of Leiria demonstrates that it continues to hinder the criminal activity of those who are dedicated to the most diverse criminal typologies, thus seeking to restore and reinforce public tranquility”.
