Noone afternoon when the rain barely let up, at Campo Municipal de Angra do Heroísmo, in the Azores, the Madeira team, which occupies 14th place in the second tier, showed its superiority.

Even so, Sport Club Angrense, which rose to the Portuguese Championship this season, and is 13th in the D series, had several opportunities to at least reduce the advantage.

The game got off to a lukewarm start, with a first half with virtually no dangerous moves for both teams.

In the 35th minute, Tomás Botelho handed the ball over to the opponent and Rúben Macedo shot into the penalty area, where, after some confusion and a save by Gonçalo Toste, Carlos Daniel ended up throwing the ball into the back of Angrense’s goal.

In the second half, the coaches made some changes to the ‘elevens’ and the pace of the game accelerated, with several dangerous shots for both teams.

Nacional da Madeira were happier again, increasing their lead in the 57th minute. Rúben Macedo’s cross, the ball hit João Maria and Zé Manuel scored the second goal of the afternoon.
