In a statement, the Lisbon Metropolitan Command of the PSP, through the Airport Security Division, adds that “after detecting potential targets, it intercepted and proceeded to detain in flagrante delicto two men, aged 29 and 37, who, acting in concerted efforts, they sought to put 2,310 packs of tobacco into circulation”.

According to the authority, the suspects acted in an “organized manner”, demonstrating that they had “defined tasks” to transport the smuggled product to be placed on the market in the national territory, without presenting it to the Tax and Customs Authority, dispensing with the formalities of dispatch. and payment of taxes due.

The two men were surprised at the entrance to the subway, next to Humberto Delgado Airport, when they were preparing to leave, according to the PSP.

During the action, the PSP seized 2,310 packs of tobacco, with a market value of 11,550 euros, in addition to seven hold luggage tags, four hold bags, three mobile phones and also 8,500 kwanzas (about 16,000 euros) and 400 euros.
