Madeira’s unique and eclectic landscapes serve as the setting for the new project in the “Star Wars” saga. The very distant galaxy of the universe created by George Lucas is now closer to us.
More than 40 containers have already arrived on the island with materials that will be used in the filming, which will take place throughout the month of March, at various points on the north and south coasts of Madeira. The Disney project is shrouded in great secrecy. For the time being, it is not known whether Madeira will receive the best known actors. Even so, our report found that it could be the shooting of “The Acolyte”, the new series of the saga.
Ponta de São Lourenço, Ribeira da Janela, Fanal, Porto Moniz and Seixal are some of the places chosen to record the saga started in 1977 by the film “Star Wars: Episode IV – A new hope”.
Without wanting to record statements, or lift the veil, through a public notice by the Regional Directorate of Roads in Madeira, the Regional Government announced the cutting of roads “motivated by the filming of a series with international notoriety and of strategic interest for the region”. Regional Government that has long sought a bet like this. As the Jedi Master says, focus determines reality.
