Francisco Assis got 90 votes and Aguiar-Branco 88.

In the second round of voting for President of the Assembly of the Republic, the two candidates maintained the same votes as in the first round. In other words, Francisco Assis got 90 votes and Aguiar-Branco 88.

Aguiar Branco, candidate for the PSD, maintained his candidacy for president of the Assembly of the Republic despite not being able to gather the necessary votes this afternoon. This was the third vote to which the Social Democrat was subjected without obtaining the necessary 116 votes. Between the afternoon and evening votes, Aguiar-Branco even lost one of the votes.

Francisco Assis, candidate for the PS, received 90 votes, being the candidate with the most votes.

In the first round, Manuela Tender was a candidate for Chega and got 49, which was not enough to pass to the second round. In the most recent vote there were 52 blank votes, which seems to indicate that Chegam deputies abstained.

None of the candidates obtained the necessary absolute majority of 116 deputies. Deputies will meet again tomorrow at noon and the Assembly will receive new applications for the position until 11 am.
