Vila Nova de Cerveira City Council will support vulnerable families in the construction or rehabilitation of their own home, particularly with materials and labor, exemption from fees or charges for regularizing the property.

The Municipal Regulation for Support for the Construction and Rehabilitation of Own Housing for Vulnerable Families in that municipality, published this Tuesday in Diário da República, explains that residents in the municipality for more than three years with “an average income” can access the support. monthly ‘per capita’ lower than 1.5 of the Social Support Index (IAS)”.

The support is intended for “construction of own and permanent housing, rehabilitation of dilapidated housing and regularization of the housing situation”.

According to the chamber, “the existence of a segment of the population that, due to various constraints, will be very difficult to improve their housing conditions and the awareness regarding the issues underlying poverty and social exclusion, convey the need to alleviate the most serious situations. social fragility”.

“With the aim of promoting the improvement of the living conditions of the most vulnerable households, through the improvement of housing conditions, the municipality of Vila Nova de Cerveira aims to create a normative instrument that regulates the terms and conditions of attribution measures to support the construction of own housing and the rehabilitation of dilapidated housing”, he explains.

Added to this is the “concern of the municipality regarding irregular housing situations, which still exist in the territory, and therefore the intention is to intervene in this area by extending support to households that find themselves in these situations”.

CONDITIONS AND SUPPORT

According to the conditions for granting support, “no member of the household can own another home or earn any income from other real estate with a housing license”.

Furthermore, beneficiaries cannot have had “support for the same purpose from the municipality in the last five years”, nor can they be “beneficiaries of other financial support for housing” or “have had financial contributions in the last five years for the same purposes” , namely “financing programs promoted by public or private entities”.

Support involves the “granting of the architectural project of the Housing Type Project provided by municipal services” or the “granting of the Housing Type Project, lending of specialty projects”.

In requests for rehabilitation support, the support translates into “the provision of the architectural project and specialty projects”.

On the other hand, it includes “exemption from fees for construction licenses and use authorization licenses”, the “supply of materials and labor” or “technical support from municipal services to regularize the housing situation” , as well as “financial support to cover the costs inherent to the regularization of housing with external entities and notarial acts”.
