In April there are two more free activities from Vita Nativa

Association of biologists organizes a guided tour of the Metropolitan Biodiversity Park. Registration is open.

When we are kids, we try to experiment and discover what we really like. At this time of year, it is normal to develop a taste for animals and plants, curious beings that share our planet with us.

There are those who can’t give up this taste, such as Bruna Monteiro, Diogo Amaro and Mauro Hilário, biologists from the Vita Nativa association. In addition to cataloging the fauna and flora species of the Metropolitan Biodiversity Park, this group of professionals shares knowledge and carries out free visits with the people of Seixal. Two more learning moments are planned for this month of April, one about changing seasons and climate change and another about how to identify plants and create an herbalist.

The first activity will be on April 13th, at 9 am, starting at Casa da Biodiversidade, the Vita Nativa base located inside the park. On this tour you will discover how landscapes change and how animals adapt to changing seasons, among other interesting facts. Registration is free and takes place from April 1st to 12th (until 1 pm), by filling out an online form available on the Seixal Municipal Council website.

The second moment will take place on April 21st, at 9 am. The meeting point will be at the House of Biodiversity. Here, the idea is to teach participants to identify the plants that paint the landscape of the Metropolitan Biodiversity Park, to learn how to create a herbarium and how important it is for the study and preservation of the flora of this place.

Registration is free and takes place from April 8th to 19th (until 1pm), by filling out the form on the municipality’s website. Both activities end around 11 am and aim to make participants more aware and responsible about the environment and the preservation of ecosystems in the municipality of Seixal.
