Since October 2023, EDP workers have been fighting a battle with the administration, for the enhancement of their professional careers, including in the form of a strike. On the 10th, they will take the protest to the shareholders meeting.

The overtime strike, which has been going on since December 1st, has caused several problems with the electricity supply, from North to South of the country. It is notable that, this Friday, the Bosch factory in Ovar was left without power. The same happened with homes and various establishments.

Being an effect of the E-Redes (EDP Group) workers’ strike, it must be noted that the failures in the energy supply are the sole responsibility of the EDP Administration, which could easily resolve this conflict, but has only taken decisions that increase the reasons for discontent.

The workers of the EDP Group companies are not letting the fight for the Letter of Demand, delivered last October, and to which the Administration refuses to respond, fall to the ground, which would allow negotiations to begin.

The Fiequimetal unions at EDP (SITE Norte, SIESI, SITE Centro-Norte and SITE CSRA) appeal for the population’s understanding, highlighting that workers are simply fighting for better conditions and the appreciation of their work.
