The state of Alagoas has entered the investment route of several hotel groups in the country and around the world. The natural vocation for tourism, with beaches with calm waters and scenarios still little explored by tourism, will ensure that some municipalities and tourist destinations gain new ventures and generate jobs and income. Data from the State Secretariat for Tourism of Alagoas (Setur) indicate that 16 new hotels should come into operation by 2026, according to AlagoasWeb, which also indicates that the new developments should guarantee 4,524 new beds, providing a greater offer in various parts of the state .

The expansion of the hotel chain shows that some groups already consolidated in the state will expand their operations. Maceió will be the city with the largest number of hotels under construction.

According to the same newspaper, the Tropicalis chain, which already has three units in the capital, announced the construction of three more hotels. The largest of them will be Gran Tropicalis, which will have 329 rooms and capacity for 800 beds and is scheduled to be delivered in 2024.

In 2025, the network expects to deliver another unit of the Tropicalis network, with 319 rooms and 780 beds and in 2026 there are plans for another unit, with 113 rooms and 250 beds available.

In turn, the Brisa chain, which has six units in Alagoas, also announced the construction of another unit in Maceió, still without information on capacity and delivery.

The Novotel brand will also expand its operations in the capital of Alagoas, which will build a unit with capacity for 279 apartments and is scheduled to come into operation in 2025.

The Placic group also announced that it will build a unit in the city, Mandi. There is still no information about capacity and start of operation date.

Barra de Santo António, which is located in the Metropolitan region of Maceió, should receive investment from the Ritz group with two units, both located on Carro Quebrado beach.

The Ritz Carro Quebrado is expected to have 768 rooms and 1,536 beds. With the same name, but in a more cozy style proposal, the chain will also launch the Ritz Carro Quebrado Pousada, which is expected to have 184 rooms.

The Salinas chain, which already has two all-inclusive resort units in the state – one in Maragogi and another in Maceió, will build another unit in the municipality of São Miguel dos Milagres. There are still no details on capacity and start of operation.

Maragogi will receive an Ibis brand unit, the Styles Resort Maragogi. The Accor group’s proposal is a new style of resort at an attractive price, with a hotel designed on the seafront. It is expected to come into operation later this year.

Also focusing on the high standard of accommodation, the GAV Resorts group will launch Oikos Maragogi GAV Resorts in 2025. According to the company, cited by AlagoasWeb, the development will be located on the seafront and will have futuristic architecture and will be divided into two blocks, with 362 apartments.

Still little explored, the southern coast of Alagoas will also welcome new hotel investments. Jequiá da Praia, located 61km from Maceió, is on the route of travelers who opt for accommodation in the middle of nature.

Scheduled to come into operation in March 2025, the Quality Resort Dunas de Marapé will be part of the Dunas de Marapé Ecological Complex, where it is possible to see the Jequiá Lagoon meet the sea. The unit will have 230 beds and 100 rooms.

The Brisa chain will also build a unit in Barra de São Miguel, with capacity for 140 rooms. There is still no information about the start of activities.

The municipality of Coruripe, located 86 km from Maceió, will gain two new hotels from the Vila Galé group, the newspaper indicated. Vila Galé Coruripe Alagoas is expected to come into operation in 2026 and will be one of the largest investments in the sector, around R$200 million. Setur’s forecast is that the unit will have 144 rooms and generate 500 direct jobs. The group’s proposal is to offer guests maximum luxury and comfort.

Within the project, the Portuguese chain also intends to build an aparthotel, with 252 units, focusing on the family accommodation experience. The entire hotel complex will house five restaurants, a water park, among other services.
