Viseu students will be celebrating again from Wednesday (April 24th) with another Viseu Academic Week. Until the 30th, the Multiusos Pavilion will host a poster that includes performances by Revenge of the 90’s, Mizzy Miles, Profjam, Saúl and Dillaz, among others.

The program starts with Revenge of the 90’s, which promises to remember the 90’s. This Thursday, April 25th, DJs Breyth and Zanova will perform. And, on Friday (the 26th), the Latin music of Baile das Novinhas arrives.

The big headliners will perform from Saturday (27th), when ProfJam arrives. On Sunday (28th), Mizzy Miles sings. Popular singer Saúl (29th) and rapper Dillaz (30th) are the last names on the Academic Week poster.

The event also includes, as usual, Viseu’s traditional student festivities such as the Serenade on Friday, the Finalists’ Mass and the Bênção das Pastas on Sunday and the Academic Parade on Monday (April 29).

The Multipurpose Pavilion will once again be the stage for the festivities. In a recent interview with Jornal do Centro, the president of the Academic Federation of Viseu (FAV), Bruno Faria, admitted that this is the “most expensive Academic Week ever”.

The person in charge also said that preparing the students’ party “is almost like preparing a big event, a festival”.

“I believe that anyone who prepares an academic week is prepared to hold any event. Any of our students who go through this organization can do it. This is not easy, you have to go to the market, look for which artists the students want, what the licensing processes are, among many other things, and then count on the right partners to organize this event”, stated Bruno Faria.

The FAV president also mentioned that the organization does not receive “any type of institutional or public financial support” for the Academic Week, which “depends a lot on our sponsors and box office revenue”. “We are the only structure in the country that does not receive public support to organize this type of event”, he reaffirmed.
