For the second year in a row, the National Horse Fair in Golegã was awarded the Five Star Award.

The award was implemented in Portugal by Five Stars Consultig and aims to identify the best that exists in different regions of the country in different areas such as business, cultural elements, natural resources, monuments and heritage, villages, towns and cities, gastronomy and natural products typical of our country.

To make these nominations, the population is given a voice to identify and vote for the best that exists in our country and a multidisciplinary team with experience in national and international marketing certification projects is created.

The National Horse Fair is recognized by its visitors, many of whom visit it annually and make the event a mandatory point on their calendars, and others who do it for the first time are won over by its uniqueness. When visitors talk about the fair, they use words like: tradition, authenticity and beauty.

According to Five Stars Consulting, this award is given because: “at FNC there is a complicity between the Man and the Horse who, side by side, roam the streets of the town as equals. The costumes, the smoke from chestnuts and the sweet taste of lemon juice that invade our bodies and fill our souls. The unique and perfect combination, between what was, is and will be, always Golegã. This is the fair that awaits you so that you too can be part of it.”

In 2023, the award was the result of the choice of 436 thousand consumers and in 2024 of 454 thousand.
