While the Belarusian President warned of the escalation of the conflict to nuclear level, Moscow has also warned that Western support for Ukraine could put the countries in direct confrontation with Russia.

Belarus now has Russian tactical nuclear missiles near the border with Ukraine. The announcement was made by President Alexander Lukashenko, who warned that Western support for Ukraine could lead to a nuclear conflict.

The agreement announced in June last year provided for the installation of Russian nuclear missiles on Belarusian territory, something that had not happened since the end of the Soviet Union in 1991.

The announcement by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko was made on the same day that the United States admitted having sent long-range missiles to Ukraine.

While Lukashenko warned of the escalation of the conflict to nuclear level, Moscow has also warned that Western support for Ukraine could put the countries in direct confrontation with Russia.

Also this Thursday, Sweden formalized the sending of troops to Latvia, a country with land borders with Belarus and Russia.
