The second draw took place yesterday as part of the municipal initiative “+ Local Commerce”. The draw took place at the Investor’s Counter, with the presence of traders, participating citizens and ARAE, which supervised the entire draw process, informs the CMF.

“+ Local Commerce” is an initiative that aims to promote and publicize consumption among local businesses in the Municipality, encouraged through the membership and participation of commercial establishments. Consumers, for every €20 of purchases made in participating stores, are eligible to win one of the 60 vouchers made available by the Municipality, worth €250 each, explains the Funchal city council.

In this second draw, 20 vouchers were drawn, with a unit value of €250, which can be used in participating commercial establishments, thus contributing to the circular economy of the commercial fabric, assures the CMF.

In this edition, 276 commercial establishments joined the initiative, representing all parishes in the Municipality.

To date, 98,850 coupons have been distributed to participating establishments, which corresponds to a potential earnings of around 2 million euros, thus demonstrating the strong dynamic that this initiative has generated in the business fabric of Funchal .

Until the third and final draw, scheduled for May 31st, consumers can continue to request coupons from participating establishments and deposit them in the tombola at the Investor Counter.

In addition to “+ Local Commerce”, the Funchal City Council promotes and provides several initiatives to support, promote and publicize local commerce, he highlights.

Highlights include the “Funchal em Flor” window competition, which takes place between April and May, the Online Employment Forum, the Funchal Economic Bulletin, available at funchal.pt., among others. In addition, various tax incentives are available and events are held to promote and boost commerce throughout the municipality.
