Around 150 confreres, from around fifty confraternities from various European countries, gathered at the XXIV Grand Chapter of the Enogastronomic Confraternity of Madeira, in which the president of the Legislative Assembly of Madeira was also present to welcome them. the region.

As reported in a note sent to the editorial team, at this event, José Manuel Rodrigues highlighted the “extremely important role” of the confreres in “promoting the gastronomy, wines and culture of each of the regions”.

In fact, also a fellow member, the president of the Madeiran parliament stressed that, “in a time of globalization, culture is a distinguishing factor of people and the identity of each people”, which is why he asked for a union of efforts in order to value, even more, the gastronomic riches, pointing out, in the case of Madeira, the kebab and the black swordfish as two examples of the quality of Madeiran gastronomy.

It should be noted that the 150 participants will be received this afternoon at the regional hemicycle, with the vice-president of the Legislative Assembly of Madeira, Rubina Leal, doing the honors of the house.

The XXIV Grand Chapter began on the 25th and runs until the 28th of April.

Tomorrow, on the last day, the confreres will taste a “panelo”, a typical Madeiran lunch that will be served at Chão da Ribeira, in Seixal, in the municipality of Porto Moniz.
